Hollywood Foreign Press Association — which votes on the Globes — has been accused of racism, sexism, bullying and corruption after television rights-holder NBC pulled the plug on its annual awards broadcast last year.

However, the honors in film and television will be announced Sunday from the Globes’ usual Beverly Hills hotel venue, at an event the organization said was designed to “highlight the long-established philanthropy work of HFPA,

“Over the past 25 years, the HFPA has donated $50 million to more than 70 entertainment-related charities, film restoration, scholarship programs, and humanitarian efforts,” the group said in a statement.

There will be no spectators for the 79th golden globe awardsThe group said, citing health concerns caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the fast-spreading Omicron variant.

The Golden Globes have traditionally been second only to the Oscars in Hollywood’s film awards season, but their credibility has been called into question — and their future is shrouded in doubt.

Several Tinseltown publicists and studios declined to participate in this year’s edition, and A-listers publicly distanced themselves from the troubled group, at least until reforms were made.

The HFPA announced its annual enrollment last month, which included Kenneth Branaghoo‘Inspired by childhood’Belfast‘ and Jane Campion’s dark western ‘The’ dog power’ topped the selections with seven points.

But the ads and billboards at the height of Golden Globe nominations in Los Angeles this winter have been noticeably absent.

The organization – which includes just over 100 entertainment writers affiliated with foreign publications – has gone through reforms, including admitting its largest annual intake of new members last year.

The HFPA diversity controversy was triggered by a Los Angeles Times investigation last year that showed the organization did not have a single black member at the time.
