GoAir Bengaluru-Patna flight with 130 passengers onboard suffers bird strike

A Bengaluru-Patna-bound GoAir flight on Tuesday hit a flock of birds on its way to land at Patna’s Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, causing some tense moments among passengers. However, the pilot of GoAir flight G8 274 was able to maintain control of the aircraft and made a safe landing. An official of Patna Airport said that there were 130 passengers in the plane.

The official said that there are some meat shops near the airport and this could be the reason for the arrival of birds in the area. Last year, Guwahati-bound SpiceJet flight SG 3724 developed a technical glitch soon after take-off on June 25. The flight landed back safely after five minutes.
