Goa: Kadamba Transport Corporation to set up more charging stations for buses next month. Goa News – Times of India

Panaji: With electric vehicles Successfully running in Goa Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) and more buses to join the fleet, with five more vehicle charging stations expected to be ready by next month in the state.
Currently there are charging stations Panaji, Busk, pernem, panda and Valpoi, and only an electric vehicle charging station Works at Margao
“Once we decentralize the charging stations, it will help us cover more internal routes. The charging station at Vasco will be ready by the end of this month while the remaining four will take a month and a half to be ready,” said Sanjay Ghate, general manager, KTC.
KTCL is currently operating 35 EVs in Goa. These are part of the 50 vehicles that have been provided to Goa under the second phase of the FAME India scheme. The remaining 15 vehicles are expected to be delivered by the same Hyderabad-based company that manufactured the last 35. The company has been issued an award letter for another 100 electric buses, the supply of which is expected to start from June 22. ,
“The EVs will be distributed in phases. We are expecting around 25 buses in June and another 25 buses in September. We are expecting to receive the remaining buses by December.
As a result, Goa will have a large fleet of KTC electric vehicles by the end of next year. The nine-metre long buses will be operated in the interior areas of Goa on the existing KTC routes. “We are likely to condemn 100 old KTC buses so that they can be replaced with orders of 100 EVs,” Ghate said.
