Manoj Mahale of Sai Service said that he got a call at 11 am from an English speaking person that there is a bomb in the office and everyone should clear it immediately.
“Our receptionist thought someone was joking and hung up the call. Around 11.30 am, there was another call saying that there is a bomb inside the office and that the bomb squad and other forces are coming, and we should all get out. The third time, the caller said he wasn’t kidding and wasn’t crazy, but that it was a real call. He warned that the next sound we would hear would be a big bang,” Mahal said.
Mahale said Porvorim and Panaji police stations were immediately informed about the call and added that the caller’s phone number was provided to them.
Porvorim police have written to the Bardez sub-division magistrate asking the man to sign a bond of good behavior.
