Writer Jaideep Sahni is one of the most respected names in the Hindi film industry, having delivered some of the most entertaining and timely scripts. He has collaborated creatively frequently with filmmaker Aditya Chopra on some of the biggest hits like Chak De! India, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Bunty Aur Babli, Shuddh Desi Romance. It is now learned that Shani will be an exclusive producer for YRF Entertainment, Yash Raj Films’ OTT venture that aims to change the landscape of digital content being produced in India!
“Aditya Chopra wants to create the best shows for a global audience to enjoy and he wants the best team at the helm of affairs to create genre-defining content based out of India. He has signed Sahni to be an exclusive producer for YRF Entertainment. The screenwriter has always mesmerized everyone with his scripts and this development shows that we can expect some of the best content from YRF in the digital space,” informs a trade source.
The source further revealed, “Shani has been writing and developing some fantastic gems over the past 10 years. It is certain that he will be writing and producing YRF Entertainment’s second digital series. The inclusive, temperamental writer holds a card to his chest and It looks like he will be creating a number of content-forward projects in the coming years.He will create a genre of his own in the Hindi content space with his first project for YRF Entertainment, which is slated to start early next year. Chopra and the YRF team are in awe of this wonderful script and we hear that the casting is about to begin.”
