Global warming has not spared even God. This time, despite good snowfall on the mountains, the effect of global warming has started showing. Where there used to be snow for four feet in Badrinath Dham, there is no snow now. This year, there was no need to remove snow from the premises in Kedarnath Dham as the snow has melted here.

According to meteorologists, if the heat continues like this, then the high peaks will also become snowless.

High peaks can also be snowless
Gangotri and Yamunotri have also received nominal snow this year. Meteorologists believe that if there is no rain and the heat continues like this, then the high peaks will also become snowless. Actually, in the month of March, about three to four feet of snow had accumulated in Badrinath Dham, which is now melting rapidly. Here the ice has completely melted at the Taptkund, the parikrama site, the campus and the Aastha Path. Snow is melting rapidly in Mana, the last village of the country, located at a distance of 3 km from here. In the month of February, snow had frozen here for five to six feet.

Snow was frozen till April 15 last year
The village of Bamani, which was completely covered with snow, has also disappeared. The snow around Gangotri Dham had melted till March 20. Till last year, the snow in the Dham looked frozen till April 15. The situation of Yamunotri Dham is also the same. The snow is melting fast here too.

The good news from Hemkund Sahib is that it is covered with about 10 feet of snow.

Snow up to ten feet only in Hemkund Sahib
It is a matter of relief that the famous Hemkund Sahib is still covered with about 10 feet of snow. Army personnel will reach here by April 15 to clear the snow from Hemkund Sahib’s Aastha Path and Gurudwara. If the change in the weather continues like this, then by the month of May, the snow will melt from Hemkund as well.

fireballs raining from the sky
Let us tell you that the month of March 2022 has been the hottest in the last 122 years. In the month of March, the mercury had crossed 40. The biggest reason for this is global warming. Earlier, the normal average temperature in March 2010 was 33.09 degree centigrade whereas in March 2022 the average temperature was 33.1 degree centigrade.

If we talk about March 2020, then there was severe heat in many areas of North West India. In the last few years, we have experienced unseasonal above normal heat, cold and rain.
