Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday invited entrepreneurs and industrialists to visit his state during the ‘UP Global Investors Summit’ during a roadshow in Mumbai.

Later in the day, a statement from the UP government said the CM returned with investment proposals worth over Rs 5 lakh crore.

Adityanath praised the strong law and order situation in UP, saying the state has a safe environment to do business free from land mafia and fear. He said that Uttar Pradesh has strong infrastructure of highways and airports and waterways due to which the state is no longer landlocked.

He also hoped to get a semiconductor fabrication unit in UP during the summit. According to him, semiconductor manufacturing capacity is needed if the state has to grow in Information Technology for Manufacturing Systems (ITMS).

The Chief Minister also talked about plans to create a dedicated zone for commercial and developmental activity. He called them clusters where industrial development, MSME, education, pharma, medical devices and textile parks would be located.

Reliance Industries Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani, Vedanta Group’s Anil Agarwal and Tata Company Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran were among prominent industrialists whom UP CM Yogi Adityanath met during his roadshow in Mumbai.

According to a statement issued by the UP government, Reliance has proposed huge investments in electronics manufacturing, green energy sector and 5G connectivity for the entire state. Other investment proposals include setting up a medical college and skill development center by the Adani group, a satellite city between Kanpur and Lucknow by the Ramki group and flights to every city of spiritual importance by the Tatas.

Adityanath also compared the dismal state of law and order before 2017 and now. He said that “there used to be riots every other day but now the law and order situation in the state is very strong”.

He said that his government constituted an anti-land mafia task force, which freed 64,000 hectares of land from their clutches. Uttar Pradesh sees an annual compound growth rate of about 9% in its GDP between 2015-16 and 2022-23.
