ATK Mohun Bagan on Friday announced the signing of a two-year deal with Guinea international defender Florentin Pogba. Pogba has played in many countries like France, Turkey and the United States of America and as such comes with bags of experience.
The strong defender expressed that he is looking forward to being a part of the ATK Mohun Bagan set-up and cannot wait to play in front of the fans at the Salt Lake Stadium.
Pogba spoke to the ATK Mohun Bagan media team after signing for the club.

How does it feel to sign for ATK Mohun Bagan?
To be honest, I feel really happy and proud to be a part of one of the biggest clubs in the country, ATK Mohun Bagan. It is such an honour.
What was the reason you chose ATK Mohun Bagan?
I wanted a new challenge. Coming to India, discovering a new country, new championship, new clubs and new fans is such a great challenge for me. Above all, to be a part of the history of this big club.
How much did you know about Indian football before signing for the club?
This is quite new for me. I still have a lot to learn about ISL. Of course, ambassadors like (Nicholas) Anelka or (Robert) Pires helped highlight this championship.
You have so much experience playing in top leagues around the world that there will be high expectations from you. How do you think you can help the team win trophies?
I thank God every day for giving me a chance to pursue my passion and give such great opportunities and challenges.
Playing in different leagues (France, USA, Turkey) helps each player grow and improve his game, but it also helps him understand his teammates and competitors better.
I really want to bring my experience to help the team and club as much as I can, and win trophies together.
Kolkata is known as the Mecca of football in India, the stadium has a capacity of over 70,000 fans, and fans are passionate but demanding. How eager are you to play in such an environment?
Fans are the heart and soul of a club. With them, we move on. I always enjoy playing with the enthusiasm of the entire stadium. Can’t wait to join the team and play the game in Kolkata to live and feel that special atmosphere.
Any message for fans who are so eager to see you play?
I am really happy to be a Mariner and I can promise you that I will do my best to win trophies together. Really looking forward to meeting you soon in Kolkata.
