1. First Hindi novel to get International Booker Prize

‘Sand Ka Maqbara’ has become the first Hindi novel to win the International Booker Prize. The author of the novel is Gitanjali Shree from New Delhi. The original name of the novel in Hindi is ‘Rit Samadhi’ which is translated into English as ‘The Tomb of the Sand’ by Daisy Rockwell. Notably, it is also the first book in Hindi to receive a nomination at the Global Literary Award Show.

2. Monkeypox Virus Cases Around the World

according to World Health Organization, monkeypox is a member of the orthopoxvirus genus in the family Poxviridae. It is spread when a person comes into contact with humans who have already caught the virus or with material contaminated with the virus. So far, about 200 cases of monkeypox have been reported in more than 20 countries.

3. Update on the status of COVID-19 in India

According to the Union Health Ministry, at present, there are 16,308 active COVID-19 cases in the country. Health ministry data shows that active cases of the virus comprise 0.04% of the total infections. In addition, the COVID-19 recovery rate in India 98.75 percent.

4. India’s Largest Drone Festival- India Drone Festival 2022
