Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Police has arrested the operator of a de-addiction center for the murder of a drug addict. An official gave this information on Sunday.
The center is being run at Defense Colony near Bhopura, where Bharat Bhushan, also known as Shanki, a resident of Delhi’s Sadar Bazar, was admitted by his father Prem Chand on July 18.
When Premchand went to the center to meet his son on July 23, his operator Saurabh Tyagi told a false story that his son left without informing anyone.
SP (City-II) Gyanendra Singh said that his father has lodged a report in this regard at Tila Mode police station.
Later, Tyagi told the police during investigation that Shanky was demanding liquor and abusing them.
“In anger, my son and I beat him with a wooden stick, injuring him on the head and killing him,” said Tyagi.
He further told the police that they initially buried the body in a field in Sohjani Tagan village of Muzaffarnagar district.
“On July 27, we took out the body from the pit and dumped it from the Ganga canal bridge near Ferozepur,” Tyagi told the police.
On Saturday morning, police arrested Tyagi and confiscated the car used in the crime.
The SP said that his clothes and shovel have also been recovered.
