Brett Lee, Aakash Chopra and Suresh Raina all urged Indian selectors to hand Yashasvi Jaiswal a call-up after his stellar performances in IPL 2023
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been making waves with his stellar performances in the ongoing IPL 2023 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders, the youngster narrowly missed out on his second century of the IPL 2023 season. He played a brilliant knock of 98 and returned unbeaten after handing RR the much-needed 9-wicket win. With the Royals returning for the IPL 2023 playoffs, Jaiswal broke several records with his blistering knocks, including the fastest half-century in IPL history.
The Rajasthan Royals opener had earlier scored a century against Mumbai Indians in the 1000th match of IPL history, while he has scored 575 runs in 12 innings this season. The 21-year-old has impressed many cricketers past and present and there is talk of Jaiswal making his India debut very soon.
Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee, as well as former Indian batsmen Suresh Raina and Aakash Chopra backed Jaiswal to get an Indian call-up very soon, while Raina said that Jaiswal could be in the fray for the ODI World Cup 2023 as well .

Commenting on the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, Raina urged the Indian selectors to directly include the youngster in their plans for the ODI World Cup.
Raina said, “If I were the Indian selector, I would have signed him for the World Cup today as he is very fresh in his mind.”
At the same time, former Brett Lee took to Twitter and urged the Indian selectors to immediately pick Yashasvi Jaiswal for the Indian team.
“Get him in the Indian team now @BCCI! Yashasvi Jaiswal,” Lee tweeted.
Aakash Chopra also backed the youngster to wear the famous blue Indian jersey in the ‘next 3 months’.

Yashasvi is the leading Indian run-scorer in IPL 2023, just one run behind Orange Cap holder Faf du Plessis after his brilliant 98 against KKR.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma also praised Jaiswal at the post-match presentation ceremony after Mumbai’s win over Royals as Jaiswal was named player of the match for his century.

“I was just asking him, ‘where is that power coming from’. Because last year I didn’t see so many sixes. He was timing it so well. He has been spending a lot of time in the gym. Which is good because he’s got a lot of talent and the kind of domestic season he’s had, he’s taken that form into the IPL. I wish he continues with that form. It’s good for him, for Indian cricket and Obviously good for RR,” Rohit said.
