Get e-PAN card generated in minutes: Step-by-step process to apply online & check status

At present, PAN card is considered an essential document. Many financial or bank related processes cannot be completed without a PAN card. If you do not plan to visit any office to get your PAN card generated, you can apply online for the same. PAN verification can now be done online as well. You can complete the entire process of applying for a new PAN card online in a matter of minutes.

Apply e-pan online:

  • Visit the Income Tax Department website www.incometax.gov.in. Click on Tatkal PAN through Aadhaar option on the homepage.
  • Then you will see two options, ‘Get a New PAN’ and ‘Check Status/Download PAN’. You have to click on ‘Get New PAN’ option.
  • After that, a new page will open where you have to enter your Aadhar Number and Captcha Code in the given spaces.
  • After this an OTP will come on the mobile number linked to your Aadhar card. Enter this OTP and your E-mail ID in the given spaces. After that enter the required information for PAN card.
  • Then you will receive your PAN number within few minutes, which you can download in PDF format.
  • To download your PAN, you need to click on ‘Check Status/Download PAN’ option on the same website and then download the PAN card in PDF. If you wish to order a hard copy, you can do so by paying Rs. 50.

Who are eligible to apply?

Only those who have Aadhar card are eligible to apply for e-PAN. After completion of Aadhaar based KYC process, online application can be done for it. The e-PAN can also be downloaded immediately after approval.
