He is called to perform at birthdays and other important functions in small villages of Maharashtra. From adults to children, everyone enjoys watching her dance. People from village to village invite him to perform in their areas. However, the famous folk dancer has also been in the middle of various controversies. Sometimes some people gather outside the venue to protest against him.
Recently, she was a part of another controversy. Their recent demonstration was held near the AIIMS Hospital and Research Center in Aundh, Pune. Many protested against the demonstration and argued how the police could allow a loud event near a hospital.
Recently one of her fans proposed her in the comment section of the reel. In a clip posted by the folk dancer on the song Kasam Ki Kasam from the movie Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, one of his fans commented that he loves Gautami immensely and will support her in every difficult situation. She also said that he was the life partner she was waiting for and he would never hurt her. “Please reply me”, wrote the fan.
Recently, an employee of the Maharashtra State Transport Board requested two days leave to watch one of his performances. The employee worked as a driver in Maharashtra’s Tasgaon tehsil, Sangli district. He applied for leave on 22 and 23 May, stating that a Lavani dancer would perform in his village.
He was severely criticized for making obscene gestures on stage. According to reports, folk dancers charge Rs 2 to 5 lakh for a single performance.
