GATE 2022: Supreme Court To Hear Plea To Postpone Exam Due To Covid-19 Concerns

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation in the country, a plea has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking postponement of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Exam, 2022, (GATE 2022) scheduled to be held on February 5, 6, 12, and 13.

The petition by 11 candidates pointed out that exams conducted by the different government bodies were postponed in recent times due to the Covid pandemic.

While objecting to the notification for the exam, which it claimed, has instructions that violate Articles 14 and 21, the plea states that holding exams amid ongoing 3rd wave in the country, would violate the right to life and personal liberty of the candidates.
