Ganga Vilas: PM Modi to flag off world’s longest river cruise from UP to Assam on Jan 13

VaranasiThere is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Varanasi regarding Ganga Vilas Cruise, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off from Varanasi on January 13. The cruise will cover a distance of around 4,000 kms in 50 days. It will pass through the rivers of India and Bangladesh to reach Dibrugarh in Assam. Officials said it will stop near important cities like Patna, Kolkata and Dhaka.

Varanasi resident Sunil Upadhyay said, “The Ganga Vilas cruise will have foreign nationals and it will give a message to the people of the world on India’s tourism and this cruise will be very helpful in attracting tourists.”

“History is being created in the field of tourism. This is the longest water ride in the world. Previous governments did not give much importance to the water transport sector. 50 Days Cruise Tour From Varanasi To Dibrugarh

The cruise will have a capacity of 80 passengers with 18 suites. The cruise will start from Varanasi and reach Patna and Kolkata. Thereafter, it will leave for Bangladesh, re-enter India and end its journey at Dibrugarh in Assam. According to officials, the cruise will stop at over 50 places, including several World Heritage Sites, during its 50-day journey. It will also pass through several national parks and sanctuaries during its journey.
