PATNA: The Ganga on Wednesday crossed the danger mark at Gandhi Ghat in Patna and Hathidah, around 90 km along its downstream in the district.
The increase in the water level was marginal. However, it caused slight concern about impending flood in districts like Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Munger and Bhagalpur, as the water level of the swollen river was showing rising trend in these districts also.
In Patna, the river crossed the danger mark of 48.60 metres by one centimetre at Gandhi Ghat and by seven centimetres at Hathidah. Consequently, the water level was showing a slow rising trend at Munger, Bhagalpur and Kahalgaon, according the water resources department’s flood bulletin released on Wednesday.
Incidentally, the Ganga was flowing around 1 metre below the danger mark at Buxar and was nearing the red mark at Digha (Patna) on the west, the bulletin added.
