Thiruvananthapuram: The Kadakkavoor police here on Tuesday registered the arrest of a five-member the gang which included chain snatching using the stolen Vehicle. Police have identified the accused as 21-year-old Shameer from Pallipuram, 21-year-old Abin from Kadakvoor, 20-year-old Akhil Preman from Vakkom, 19-year-old Harish from Chirayinkiju and 22-year-old Jernisha from Nilamel.
Among the accused, Shamir and Abin are accused of stealing a vehicle and then using it for dacoity. Akhil Preman and Harish are accused of modifying the stolen motorcycle beyond recognition. Jernisha is accused of helping him snatch the gold chain.
The accused were arrested after investigating a case related to the robbing of a gold chain of an 80-year-old woman at Angilimukku near Kadakkavoor on Saturday morning, police said.
