Superstars on Wednesday Amitabh Bachchan had shared a video of the unveiling of the idol of Ganpati ahead of the Ganesh Utsav, which begins on September 10. The actor had said that this was the first look of Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati idol. The video quickly went viral and even went viral on Twitter and WhatsApp. However, on Thursday, the Lalbaugcha Raja organizing committee issued a clarification saying that they have not done any first viewing or unveiling of the idol, and will do so on the first day of the festival.
The official Twitter statement said, “We have not done any first look. We are all excited to show you the first glimpse of Lalbaugcha Raja 2021 live on 10th September at 10:30 am on Mandal’s official YouTube, Facebook and website. Ganpati Bappa Morya!!! #lalbaugcharaja.” In another tweet, he tagged the megastar.

On Wednesday, Mr Bachchan shared a video in which the idol of Ganpati can be unveiled with large chants of Ganpati Bappa Maurya by the devotees seen in the video. Bachchan shared the clip with a Hindi caption which had a Ganesh mantra.
Lalbagh Pandal is one of the most popular and historical Ganesh pandals of Mumbai. While there were apprehensions to hold the festivities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 88-year-old tradition was continued, and the festivities would take place as per the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government. In view of the threat of third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the pandal has canceled the physical darshan for this year. Devotees will be able to get online darshan of Lalbaug Cha Raja through the official website of the pandal and will also have the option to order laddu prasad online. This year, the 10-day long festival will conclude with idol immersion on September 21.
On the work front, Big B will be seen in Brahmastra-1 and Jhund. He has many other films to shoot such as Mayday, Project K, The Intern and Goodbye. He is also currently hosting the thirteenth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
