The hearing in the Noida’s famous Nithari murder case was held on Tuesday in the CBI court of Ghaziabad. The court has convicted Surendra Koli in the murder case of Deepika alias Badi Payal of Gadarpur, Sector-19. Moninder Singh Pandher was found guilty of the Moral Trafficking Act. The sentence will be announced on May 19. Whereas evidence was not found against the then sub-inspector Simranjit Kaur. He was acquitted.

One by one the children started disappearing and the police said everyone would come back.
Nithari is a small village in Sector 31 of Noida. From January 2006 onwards, children started disappearing from the villages around Nithari. If people went to the police, the police would say that they must have gone here and there and will come. The people were from poor families. Instead of relying on the police, he started searching himself. Deepika aka Payal went missing on 7 May 2006 in the wake of the children’s disappearance. Nandlal was not patient like the rest. When they started searching, they found a rickshawwala on which Payal had left the house. Rickshawwala said, “Payal sat on my rickshaw and got down in front of D-5 Kothi in Sector-31. Asked to bring money from inside. Went inside, but didn’t come out for a long time. I knocked on the door, a person found it. came out and said, she left from here and left.

This is the same D-5 Kothi in Nithari village of Noida Sector 31 which was bought by Moninder Singh Pandher in the year 2000.

If Nandlal’s FIR was not written, he went to court.
Nandlal tried to file an FIR against the owner of D-5 Kothi, Moninder Singh Pandher, but the police did not register it. Because Moninder Singh Pandher was a millionaire person. He was recognized by the police. Had to travel abroad. Nandlal does a lawyer and reaches the sessions court. Court ordered registration of FIR against Moninder Singh Pandher.

Now Moninder Singh felt bad about it. He filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court to quash the FIR. Said, “Things like child theft are rumours.” The court rejected the argument and ordered registration of FIR. Following the court’s order, the police registered an FIR and arrived in October 2006 to investigate D-5 Kothi. Saw everything, but couldn’t get any clue. Something happened in December 2006 that the country has not forgotten even today.

Before the next story, know about the kothi and the servant
Moninder Singh Pandher was from Punjab. He took a kothi in Noida in the year 2000. In the initial days, wife and son also lived here, but by 2003 both shifted to Punjab. Moninder also came very rarely. So he asked one of his colonel friends about the servant. The colonel suggested the name of Surendra Koli. Surendra was from Almora in Uttarakhand. The marriage had taken place. Had two children. The food was great. So Moninder liked it and they hired him in 2003.

Moninder Singh’s entire family lived in Chandigarh. When he came to Delhi in connection with business, he used to stay at D-5 Kothi in Nithari.

Kothi had become the den of Moninder Singh’s debauchery.
Moninder Singh used to come to D-5 occasionally. When he came, he used to call the call girl for the whole night. When he was in the room with the girls, the servant Surendra Koli would try to look inside through the small portions of the windows. Once Pandher called many touts of Delhi, but no girl was found. Then he first asked Surendra Koli to arrange for the girl. Surendra brought a girl from somewhere.

When Pandher left in the morning, Koli showed his desire to have sex with the girl. The girl laughed and said, “You won’t be able to.” This made Koli so angry that he strangled the girl to death. What did he do after the murder, these tell further in the story. This was Koli’s first murder.

40 bags were seen in the drain, but no part of the stomach and chest in any
Nandlal was constantly fighting for his daughter. Other people whose children were missing also came with Nandlal. Whoever was asked about the missing children in the area, everyone said that they last saw in front of D-5. When the police tour started in D-5, the people around also started paying attention. A person’s eyes went on the polythene thrown in the drain just behind Pandher’s kothi. When he took him out with a stick, he was stunned. There were pieces of children’s feet and hands in it. On getting information about this, a large number of police reached the spot.

When the drain was excavated, 19 skeletons were found in it. CBI stopped the flow of water from both the sides and got the drain completely excavated.

On 29 December 2006, the police retrieved 19 skeletons from the drain. All contained the bones of children and girls, and some contained pieces of meat. All the top police officers reached the spot. Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli were arrested on the same day. CBI got involved in the case. On 30th December, once again people descended into the drain, they found 40 such packets, in which only human parts were filled. The strange thing is that no one had a part from the neck to the stomach.

The police felt that human organs were being smuggled
In the initial investigation, the police felt that human organs were being smuggled from this house, so people were probably murdered to remove kidney, liver, heart. But, immediately it also came to the fore that removal and transplantation of human organs is possible only in HiFi Hospital and cannot be done here. The police now started looking for murder cases. When the police started interrogation, Moninder Singh Pandher was not ready to accept that he had killed a child.

When skeletons started being found, people created a ruckus. At that time, if Pandher and Koli had fallen into the hands of the mob, they would have been murdered.

Surendra Koli told such a thing after hearing which the policemen vomited
The then CM Mulayam Singh Yadav ordered the administration to make disclosures at the earliest. On 5 January 2007, the police reached Gandhinagar in Gujarat with Moninder Singh Pandher and Koli. Here he had his Norco test. After this, on January 10, the CBI and the police chose a secret place for interrogation of both. This is because there was so much anger in the public about both that if they met, they would have been beaten up. The same thing happened in Ghaziabad on 25 January 2007. Surendra Koli was made to sit in a room. Four policemen started asking him. The police adopted all the methods and then said, Moninder Singh Pandher has spoken everything in your name. You won’t be saved now. Surendra started speaking the truth. He said, I used to invite children inside the house on the pretext of toffee-biscuit. Then he used to strangle her and rape her. After doing this, he would take them to the bathroom and cut them into small pieces. He used to cook the stomach part in the cooker. The policemen trembled after hearing this. Came out running Two policemen vomited.

Surendra Koli told that he killed first. Then raped and after that cut the corpse, cooked it in the cooker and ate it.

The four police inspectors were filled with so much fear and disgust that they were not even getting ready to be interrogated again. When the senior officers explained in some way, then the matter came to an end. First Surendra Koli’s hand was tied and after that 10 policemen sat together, then further questioning took place. Koli told about the first murder, “When Pandher went away, I told the girl that I will also give you money, you go to bed with me. Then the girl taunted and said – Tumse na hoga. This made me angry and I Killed. Then raped and cut her body and cooked it in a cooker and ate it.”

Police told Koli impotent in medical examination then also imposed rape charges
Surendra Koli kept talking about himself being impotent before his arrest. So the police got his medical done. Medically, it was said that he was impotent. But the other side of it is that he used to bring tablets for sexual stimulation from the medical store and after consuming it, he could not differentiate between boys and girls. He used to kill girls first and then have sex with them.

Now the question is, if he was impotent then why was the section of rape imposed? Doctors issued a report about Koli. It was told that Surendra Koli was suffering from necrophilia disease. Koli feared the girls’ protest during the rape. That’s why he would first kill and then have sex with children. There is also a question about impotence, if it was like this then why did he get married? And then how did he have two children?

CBI acquitted Pandher in a case
A total of 17 cases were registered against Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli in the police. On 7 February 2007, a girl named Pinky was identified through the pieces of meat and bones found in the packet. On February 8, both the accused were sent to 14-day CBI custody. In May 2007, the CBI acquitted Pandher in the chargesheet filed in the kidnapping, rape and murder case of a girl named Rimpa Halder. After a court rebuke in July, the CBI had to make Pandher an accused along with Koli.

Since 2009 till now, the death sentence has been pronounced 12 times.

Lawyer came to save Koli from hanging
A news came on 7th September 2014. Surendra Koli will be hanged on the morning of 8 September in Meerut Jail. He is being shifted from Dasna Jail to Meerut Central Jail. Former Additional Solicitor General Indira Jaising comes to know about this, then she asks Supreme Court Chief Justice RM Lodha for time at 9.30 pm. At 10.45 pm, a special bench of Senior Justices HL Dattu and AR Dave is formed and it hears.

As soon as Indira Jaising came to know that Koli would be hanged tomorrow morning, she stopped the hanging by meeting the Chief Justice the same night.

At one o’clock in the night, both the judges heard the appeal of Indira Jaising and postponed the execution of Surendra Koli for a week. But, now the question was how to deliver the order to the jailer in the official way. First of all, DM and SSP of Meerut were called. After this, he was asked to wait for this order to be faxed. The fax reached both of them at 3.45 pm. After that the hanging stopped. Had it been 2 more hours late, Surendra Koli would have been hanged.

family says he should be punished
At present, 8 years have passed after this, but till now Surendra Koli could not be hanged. Decisions of 13 out of 17 cases have been arrived. Surendra Koli has been sentenced to death in 12 cases. The previous verdict came on 26 March 2021, in which Koli was acquitted. Surendra himself had pleaded in this matter. There is no one to stand by his side. Family members say that he has done this, so he should not get an apology.
