Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state based on the incidence of Value Added Tax.

Meanwhile, the central government is in talks with many oil exporting countries on the issue of supply and demand of oil, but there is no possibility of immediate relief in prices.

Earlier, a source told ANI that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had recently raised concerns over the issue of prices, supply and demand for oils for major oil producing countries.

“As crude oil prices rise internationally, the petroleum ministry has called on the energy ministries of several countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Russia and others,” the source told ANI.
