Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan’s “Doctor” premiered in theaters last weekend. Critics have termed Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction as a masala entertainer, with many comedies courtesy of actors Yogi Babu and Radin Kingsley. While film-goers are loving the action-comedy, film stars are also praising it. Popular names like director Shankar and actor Khushboo Sundar publicly praised the film. Shankar called the film “Haaste ki best medicine” amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sivakarthikeyan’s happiness over Shankar’s appreciation for ‘Doctor’ was visible in his tweet. Describing the director as his “most favourite”, he thanked Shankar for making the film “more memorable”.
Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar, who will soon be making her acting debut, also had an “amazing time” watching the film. Karthikeyan thanked the actor and wished him all the best for his debut.
Filmmaker Susenthiran tweeted a handwritten note praising directors Nelson Dilipkumar and Sivakarthikeyan. He watched the film with his family.
Television anchor DD Neelakandan said that viewers can be assured of “absolute joy” on seeing the doctor. He also called Sivakarthikeyan’s performance “different and stronger”, mentioning other artists in his tweet.
Actor Khushbu Sundar also wished Karthikeyan “huge success” with the film.
After a long delay due to the Kovid-19 pandemic, ‘Doctor’ was released in cinemas on 9 October. The name of this film is ‘Varun Doctor’ in Telugu. The film stars Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. According to media reports, the film earned around Rs 8 crore on its opening day in Tamil Nadu amid the pandemic. There are also rumors that Sivakarthikeyan and Nelson Dilipkumar may team up again for a project.
