Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly one of the most globally renowned actresses. She made her debut in 2008 alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Their successful collaboration continued with blockbuster hits like Chennai Express, Happy New Year, and Pathaan earlier this year. Now, adding to their on-screen chemistry, Deepika Padukone is appearing alongside Shah Rukh Khan in his latest release, Jawan, in a special role. The audience’s enthusiasm for this iconic duo sharing the screen is undeniable. Following the grand opening of Jawan in theatres, Deepika Padukone took to social media to share a reel summarising her and Shah Rukh Khan’s incredible journey in a few seconds.

Deepika Padukone shared a How It Started and How It’s Going reel created by Miss Malini on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Always and Forever.” The reel starts with an iconic clip from Om Shanti Om, where Deepika Padukone starred as a celebrated actress and Shah Rukh Khan was her biggest fan. The snippet then cuts to a scene from Jawan where the two lock horns with each other. Reportedly, she plays Aishwarya Rathore, the wife of Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Vikram Rathore.

A special screening of Jawan, directed by Atlee, was conducted at the Yash Raj Films studio in Mumbai on the same day it opened in theatres. Deepika Padukone was seen attending the event. Deepika Padukone looked stunning in a black and white kurta. She finished her look with kohled eyelids and her hair styled in a bun. As she arrived for the screening, the actress was seen waving at the paparazzi from her car.

Shah Rukh Khan, his Jawan co-stars Sanya Malhotra and Ridhi Dogra, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, and other well-wishers like Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, and T-Series head Bhushan Kumar were among those who attended the screening. Even Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan were seen at the event.

Meanwhile, Jawan has become the highest-grossing Bollywood release of all time. The Atlee-directed film surpassed all records by grossing more than Rs 75 crore in India on day one for all languages. Shah Rukh Khan has also thanked his fans for receiving the film so well. He tweeted, “Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside. So overwhelmed, will surely do the needful as soon as I get my breath back in a day or so. Uff!! Love u for loving Jawan.”

Deepika Padukone will next be seen in Fighter, opposite Hrithik Roshan. The film is slated to release in 2024.
