Maharashtra Political Crisis: As Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray left the chief minister’s residence and headed towards his family home, Matoshree, the streets of Mumbai intensified. If sources are to be believed, the CM is struggling over numbers in the assembly as an internal coup led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has left CM Thackeray with only a few MLAs in his fold. However, senior Shiv Sena leader Shinde has the support of over 30 MLAs in the move. Shinde is currently staying at a hotel in Guwahati, Assam.

Uddhav threw an emotional bomb

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Wednesday that he is ready to step down if rebel MLAs tell him that they do not want him to continue as the chief minister of Maharashtra. He was forced to break his silence after his government was pushed to the brink of collapse by rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. However, he insisted that he would be happy to see a Shiv Sainik as his successor to the chief minister’s post. The leader also mentioned that he took over the post despite being inexperienced following NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s suggestion.

Eknath Shinde wrote a letter to the Governor, handed over the signatures of 34 MLAs

The resolution, signed by 34 rebel MLAs of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party, stating that Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde continues as the leader of the Shiv Sena legislature party, was sent to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

In the resolution, the MLAs, who are part of the split faction, said, “There is huge discontent among the party’s cadre. Shiv Sena to form government with NCP and Indian National Congress who are ideologically opposed to out of the party.

The resolution further said, “Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had formed a pre-poll alliance for the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly General Elections. They sought the voters’ blessings for this Shiv Sena-BJP alliance, which was accepted by the voters and Voted.” In favor of this alliance.” The resolution said, “After the results came out, the Shiv Sena entered into an alliance with the opposition parties against which they had fought in the 2019 assembly elections.”

Not with Uddhav, NCP is upset with Congress: Rebel Shiv Sena MLA

Amid the ongoing political developments in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, one of the Shiv Sena ministers, one of Eknath Shinde’s dissidents, commented on the NCP and Congress. Congress appoints Kamal Nath as observer amid political developments

In the wake of recent political developments in Maharashtra, the Congress party on Tuesday (June 21) appointed its senior leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath as an All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer in the state.

“The Congress President has deputed Kamal Nath AICC Observer with immediate effect in view of the recent political developments in the state,” the Congress said in an official statement. The decision came soon after reports that some Shiv Sena MLAs along with party leader Eknath Shinde moved to Surat and became a threat to the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

Eknath Shinde reached Guwahati in the early hours of Wednesday

Eknath Shinde, along with over 30 party MLAs and seven independents, who were staying at Le Meridien Hotel in Surat, reached Guwahati in Assam on Wednesday (June 22) morning. This comes after suspicious cross-voting in the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dealt a major blow to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena won two seats each, while the Congress managed to capture one seat out of the total 10 seats in the Legislative Council where voting was held on Monday. After the MLC elections, Shinde along with some other Shiv Sena MLAs were staying at Le Meridien Hotel in Surat.

Shiv Sena faced fourth rebellion in 56 years under Uddhav’s watch

Despite being a party of cadres committed with unshakable allegiance to the leadership of the day, the Shiv Sena has been vulnerable to rebellions in its ranks and has seen rebellions by prominent figures on four occasions, three of which are under the watch of its charismatic founder. Bal Thackeray has become the latest leader to be included in the Eknath Shinde list.

Shinde’s rebellion, a cabinet minister who moved in with a group of Shiv Sena MLAs, is the most significant in the organisation’s 56-year-old history as it threatened to topple the party-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra, while other revolts took place when when she was not in power in the state.

The current rebellion, which started taking shape after midnight on Monday following the Legislative Council election results, presents a major challenge to Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray as the last three rebellions took place when his father Bal Thackeray was still were around.
