‘Friendly race’: One killed, one injured in bike collision on Yamuna Expressway Noida News – Times of India

Greater Noida: A 28-year-old youth died, and his 30-year-old friend Injured After the collision of their superbikes on the Yamuna Expressway knowledge park area of Greater Noida Sunday Morning. Initial investigation revealed that both were running, due to which the accident happened.
The deceased have been identified as Rahul Teotia (28), a resident of Mehrauli in Delhi and his friend Yash Kumar (30), a resident of Rohini, Delhi.
SHO of Knowledge Park police station Sanjay Kumar Singh said that the accident happened on the Agra-Noida side of the expressway at around 9.30 am on Sunday. “The rear tire of Tewatia’s bike burst and he lost his balance about 2 km from the zero point. Kumar was coming from behind and his bike hit other. Eyewitnesses told us that the speed of both the bikes was over 100 km/h,” he said, adding that passersby took him to a nearby hospital.
The SHO said Tewatia’s family members told the police that he and his friend had left the house on Sunday morning to enjoy a ride on a superbike.
The SHO said that the police got the information through Twitter.
The video of the incident was posted on Twitter by commuters and residents tagging the Noida Police. “We immediately reached the spot and another team of police was sent to the hospital. We also informed their families. Teotia suffered serious head injuries and died during treatment at the hospital. Kumar is still in the ICU,” he said.
Police said no complaint has been registered in the matter but the body has been sent autopsywhose report is awaited.
Police are also scanning CCTV footage of the surrounding area to ascertain whether other bike riders were also involved in the race.
