Shimla: Several roads were closed in Shimla and its adjoining areas on Monday morning following heavy snowfall in the district.

The process of clearing snow from the roads in Shimla and the upper areas of the district like Kufri, Mashobra, Narkanda, Kharapathar, Khidki etc. is going on.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Public Works Department, and the Shimla Municipal Corporation have pressed their staff and machinery to clear the roads to ensure the movement of traffic.
Shimla Police has urged people to exercise caution while driving their vehicles. People have been asked to be cautious while walking.
Tourists are advised to travel with drivers having good driving experience in snowy terrain.
Tourists and locals have been advised to travel by a safer alternate route in case of emergency.
According to the information collected by the Kullu district administration from all the police stations and police posts in the district, National Highway 3 is closed between 15 miles from Manali due to snowfall.
Similarly, the road from Manali towards Rohtang is also closed due to snowfall.
National Highway-305 from Jibhi to Jalori Pass and Khanag to Jalori Pass road is closed due to snowfall in the district.
Snowfall continues in Sisu area of ​​Lahaul-Spiti district. So far, 1 feet of snowfall has been recorded in these areas.
The Dhundi control room has informed the Lahaul-Spiti administration about snowfall in Dhundi as well and about 2 feet of snowfall has already been recorded. Traffic is still closed for all types of vehicles.
