Novak Djokovic has ousted top seed and world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz from the French Open. The two top tennis players met in the semi-finals and Djokovic’s experience prevailed in the end as he won the match against Alcaraz 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to reach the final. Another Grand Slam final. Djokovic is now just one win away from a record 23rd Grand Slam title.

As far as the match was concerned, a sensational shot from Alcaraz sealed the second set for him. The 1–1 tie was set for an exciting contest, only for Alcaraz to miss the third bout due to his fitness. His trainer had to back him up and since it didn’t change, he had to drop a game and was 2-1 down.

It was one-way traffic from then on, with Djokovic showcasing his skills. Alcaraz started cramping first in his hands and then in his legs, and this severely affected his game. He lost the match by losing the last two sets 6–1, 6–1. Djokovic also felt bad for the youngster who made sure to get him the right message at the end of the match.

“I feel for him. I’m sorry. I hope he can recover very soon. I told him at the net, he knows how young he is. He’s got a lot of time. He’s going to win this tournament.” Been going, I’m sure, many, many times,” Djokovic said after the match.

The veteran will face the winner between No. 4 Kasper Ruud of Norway and No. 22 Alexander Zverev of Germany, with the final set to be played on June 11.
