Frank Langella fired from new Netflix show

Hollywood legend Frank Langella has been fired by Netflix from its upcoming limited series “The Fall of the House of Usher” after an investigation into his alleged misconduct on set. The 84-year-old actor was cast to play Roderick Usher in an eight-episode horror project inspired by several stories by Edgar Allan Poe.

However, the role would be recast even though the production of the show was almost half done. As Deadline reports, the scenes filmed with Langella will now be reshot.

Netflix and Langella have yet to comment on the investigation or the allegations against the actor.

But according to TMZ, the investigation was launched after Langella was accused of sexual harassment, including making inappropriate remarks to a female co-star on set during work.

“The Fall of the House of Usher” is from the “Hunting of Hill House” and “Midnight Mass” team by Mike Flanagan and Trevor Massey.

The show will also star Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell and Carl Lumbly in key roles.

Langella is best known for starring in films such as “Masters of the Universe”, “Good Night, and Good Luck”, “Robot and Frank”, “Frost/Nixon”, and “The Trial of Chicago 7”.

On the small screen, he has appeared in shows such as “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”, “The Americans” and “Kidding”.
