Foxconn Chairman Young Liu reaffirms company’s commitment to set up manufacturing facility in Kongra Kalan

Taiwan-based technology conglomerate Foxconn, also known by its official name Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, on Monday said it is setting up a manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, Telangana. This facility will come in Kongara Kalan.

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu on Monday said in a letter to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that the company is setting up a manufacturing facility in Kongara Kalan. He has also sought the cooperation of the Telangana team to make Kongar Kalan Park operational at the earliest.

Referring to discussions with KCR during their meeting on March 2, 2023, Liu expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and his team during their visit to Hyderabad.

Describing the visit, the Foxconn Chairman said that he had a great time during his stay in Hyderabad, Telangana. He was impressed by the hospitality extended by KCR and thanked him for the warm birthday wishes and personalized card.

Young Liu said, “I was really inspired by your vision and efforts for the transformation and development of Telangana. I now have a new friend in India and I look forward to working with you in the future.”

Concluding the letter, he wrote that he looks forward to meeting KCR soon. Chairman Young Liu invited the Chief Minister of Taiwan as his personal guest, saying that it would be an honor for him to host KCR in Taipei.

During Liu and KCR’s meeting at Pragati Bhavan on 2 March, it was agreed that Foxconn would set up an electronics manufacturing facility in Telangana with employment generation potential for over one lakh people.

KCR asserted that Telangana considers Taiwan a natural partner and the state is happy to be a part of Foxconn’s growth story.

The Chief Minister and Young Liu used the occasion to discuss the importance of diversifying electronics manufacturing for a resilient supply chain and the important role to be played by state governments.

The Chief Minister said that the government has been successful in implementing the new industrial policy and has attracted huge investments in Telangana. He said that the huge investment by Foxconn and the opportunity to create more than one lakh jobs in the state of Telangana is commendable.
