The fourth case of Omicron in India has been found in Maharashtra. According to the state health department, this person, a resident of Kalyan Dombivli near Mumbai, had returned from South Africa. His age is 33 years. He came from South Africa to Dubai, then to Delhi and from there to Mumbai on 24 November. He has not got the corona vaccine yet. He had mild fever while landing in Mumbai. Apart from this, he did not show any other symptoms of corona. He was kept at the Kovid Care Center in Kalyan for treatment.

Twelve high-risk and 23 low-risk contacts have been traced to infected patients. All the reports have come negative. The test of 25 co-passengers traveling with him on the Delhi-Mumbai flight has also come negative. Earlier, the new variant was confirmed in two patients in Karnataka and one in Jamnagar in Gujarat.

For the sixth time in India, more than 1 crore doses were taken in a day.
India has once again made a record of administering more than one crore doses of corona vaccine in a day. With this, the total vaccination figure in India has crossed 127 crores. Out of these, 80 crore people have got both the first and 47 crore doses. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar are on top in terms of maximum vaccination. Vaccination started in India from January 16 this year. It’s been 323 days.

According to government data, an average of 59.32 lakh doses have been administered in November this year as against 19.69 lakh doses per day in May. On an average 55.77 lakh vaccines were administered in October, 78.69 lakh in September and 59.29 lakh in August. Officials said that about 84.8 percent of the adult population in India has received both the first and 50%.

The increase in the weekly rate of infection and death from corona in six states has worried the Center. The government has written to Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Mizoram and Jammu and Kashmir instructing them to increase vigilance.

20 dedicated counters at Delhi Airport for foreign travelers who book online testing slots prior to travel

Omicron case found in Gujarat’s Jamnagar

The first case of Omicron has been reported from Jamnagar in Gujarat. According to the report, this person has returned to India from Zimbabwe. He had gone to Jamnagar after landing at Ahmedabad airport on November 28. His infection with Omicron has been confirmed by a genome sequencing test. Now the number of Omicron infected in the country has increased to 3. The first two patients of Omicron were found in Karnataka.
