Police said the family had seven members, including four adults and three minors.
Five of them ate late Tuesday evening, while two minors did not eat as they slept early.
After eating the food, the condition of five family members started deteriorating one by one and on Tuesday midnight, the elderly woman was the first to die in the house.
Family members contacted neighbors and others who took four seriously ill patients to the hospital, but two of them died during treatment. The other two were undergoing treatment at SRN Hospital.
On receiving information, a team of senior police officers and forensic experts reached the spot and took samples for examination. Police said a detailed investigation is underway and they are waiting for the post-mortem report.
