Four arrested for beheading youth in Tirupur | Coimbatore News – Times of India

COIMBATORE: The Tirupur city ​​police arrested four youths on Tuesday for beheading a garment unit employee. The police also recovered the severed head of the youth — M Sathish, 25, of Melaiyur in Mayiladuthurai district — from a dustbin in the city.
The arrested have been identified as M Ram alias Ramkumar, 25, of Kallanai village in Madurai district, S Subhaprakash alias Mokkai Prakash, 23, of Thiruppuvanam in Sivaganga district, S Manikandan alias Psycho Mani, 25, of Pulipatti near Melur in Madurai district and R Sathishkumar, 24, of Thevaram in Theni district. The four youths were working in different garment units and staying in different parts of Tirupur district.
Sathish and his friend, D Ranjith, 20, of Thiruvanaikovil near Musiri in Trichy district, were working in an embroidery company at KNP Colony in Serangadu and were staying in the company’s room. On Sunday night, the duo went to an open place at Serangadu to consume liquor.
Ramkumar, Subhaprakash, Manikandan and Sathishkumar, who were consuming liquor there, noticed Sathish and Ranjith who were new to the area.
“The four youths and the duo were under the influence of alcohol. The four youths questioned the duo and snatched the mobile phone of Ranjith. Ranjith beat one of the gang members and ran away. However, the four youths brought Satish under their control and asked him to contact Ranjith over the phone. Sathish contacted Ranjith over the phone and asked him to visit the open place as he was kept under the custody of the gang,” said Tirupur city commissioner of police AG Babu.
Ranjith returned to the open place. The four youths stabbed him with a pen knife. Ranjith pushed the youths down and managed to escape. Later, he was admitted to Tirupur Government Medical College and Hospital.
“After Ranjith escaped, the youths took Sathish, who was under his custody, to bushes where he murdered him and severed his head. The youths escaped from the place on two motorcycles. One of their friends provided a motorcycle to escape from Tirupur city,” said Babu.
Babu formed four special teams to nab the accused. The accused were arrested. “We are trying to ascertain how many people were involved in the brutal murder,” said commissioner Babu.
He added that the beat police personnel had been instructed to visit open place area at night and chase away people.
