Brazil’s health regulator Anvisa called for the immediate isolation of four Argentine footballers on Sunday, hours before they face Copa America champions Brazil in a World Cup qualifier in Sao Paulo.
Anvisa said the players should have been quarantined on arrival as they had spent time in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days.
Although it did not name all four, the English Premier League club’s players are Emiliano Bandia and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovanni Lo Celso and Cristian Romero.
Anvisa said in a statement, “Anvisa considers the situation to be a serious health risk and has therefore asked local health authorities to determine the immediate quarantine of players who should be prevented from participating in any activity and to protect them on Brazilian soil.” But should be stopped from living.”

Anvisa was informed that the four players had not provided information on their immigration forms and said on Sunday that they confirmed the details given were “false”.
There was confusion just hours before the two archers faced off at the Corinthians ground in the World Cup qualifiers.
Spokesmen for both the Argentine team and CONMEBOL – the Confederation of South American Football – did not respond to requests for comment.
