In Bangalore, a restaurant took 40 paise more than a person in the bill, but he could not digest it and reached the consumer court. This is where his bet backfired. The consumer court, while pronouncing the verdict, ordered the manager of the restaurant to pay Rs 4,000 as compensation.

Seeing the bill, the elderly were furious
The matter is of May 2021. An elder named Murthy orders food at Hotel Empire in the city. When they reached to pick him up, the staff handed him a bill of Rs 265. Although his complete bill was Rs 264.60. Murthy asked the staff about this, when they did not get the correct answer, he reached the Bengaluru Consumer Court and accused the restaurant of looting people.

The elder also defended the case himself
Murthy sought a compensation of Re 1 and said that he was shocked and upset by the incident. On 26 June 2021, Murthy himself argued his case in the court. While advocates Anshuman M and Aditya Ambrose argued on behalf of the restaurant. Both argued that the complaint was too small and disturbing. Permission has been given to do so under section 170 of the Goods and Services Tax Act-2017.

If 50 paise exceeds then one rupee will be
In the case going on for 8 months, the judges told that according to the rules of the Government of India, less than 50 paise is ignored and if it is more, one rupee can be taken. The court reprimanded Murthy for wasting time. On March 4, 2022, the court ordered to pay 2000 rupees to the restaurant and 2000 rupees to the court as a fine. Which the idol has to be filled in 30 days.
