Former US President Barack Obama shares his list of favorite movies of 2022

Mr Obama said he too was biased towards ‘The Offspring’.

Former United States President Barack Obama continues his annual tradition of posting his favorite movies, books and music of the year. “I always look forward to sharing lists of my favorite books, movies and music with all of you,” Obama said in a tweet. Sharing the list of films, Mr. Obama wrote, “I saw some great movies this year – here are some of my favorites. What did I miss?”

Obama’s list includes hits like ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Everything Everywhere at Once,’ but also includes important hits like Park Chan-wook’s ‘Decision to Leave’, Celine Sciamma’s ‘Petite Maman’ and ‘Wheel’. International movies are also included. Out of fortune and fantasy, ‘Drive My Car’ from Oscar winner Ryusuke Hamaguchi.

The full list includes Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans, Gina Prince-Bythewood’s The Woman King, Charlotte Wells’ The Afterson, John Patten Ford’s Emily the Criminal, Celine Sciamma’s Petite Maman, Margaret Brown’s ‘ Descendants,’ is Audrey. ‘Happening’ by Deewane, ‘Till’ by Chinoni Chukwu, ‘The Good Boss’ by Fernando Leon de Aranoa, ‘A Hero’ by Asghar Farhadi, ‘Hit the Road’ by Panah Panahi, ‘Tar’ by Todd Field and ‘Tar’ by Kogonada ‘After Yang’.

Mr Obama said he too was biased towards ‘The Descendants’ because the Netflix documentary was produced by Higher Ground Productions, a company founded by Obama.

Social media users soon noticed that one of the highest-grossing films of the year, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was missing from Mr. Obama’s list. Some even said that the former President should watch SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, which is one of the shortlisted for 2023 Oscars.

Sharing a list of his favorite books, Mr Obama picked “The School for Good Mothers” by Jessamyn Chan and “The Light We Carry” by former First Lady Michelle Obama, adding, “I’m a little biased on this one,” As some of his favorite books among many others.
