It was Deepak Chahar’s display of grit and determination as he led India to a remarkable victory in the second ODI against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Down and out, Chahar played an unbeaten 69 to take the team across the line. And naturally, the former India cricketer was concerned about the performance.
Former India bowler Venkatesh Prasad wrote, “Haara hua match jeetne waale ko B- for Baazigar kehte hain. What a fabulous win. Outstanding from Deepak Chahar #INDvSL.”

The BCCI also congratulated the team and Deepak Chahar.

Chasing 276, India posted 193 for 7 when Chahar combined with Bhuvneshwar to make a rearguard effort to help India win the final over. Bhuvneshwar was unbeaten on 19 off 28, providing enough support for Chahar. The two also took five wickets between them with the ball and shared an unbroken 84-run partnership.
