Former Mahant Of Parmat Temple Given ‘bhu Smadhi’ | Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: Former mahant of Parmat temple and Mahamandleshwar of Shripanch Dashnam Juna Akhara Shyam Giri, who had breathed his last in Dehradun following prolonged illness, was given a Bhu Samadhi’ at Baba ghat in the city on Tuesday morning.
Earlier, a procession was taken out from Baba Anandeshwar temple at Parmat to the Baba ghat. The office-bearers of Sant Samaj and Juna Akhara are present here. The devotees also keep on reaching for the last ‘darshan; of the former mahant.
The Parmat temple which remained closed on Tuesday will open on Wednesday morning.
Shyam Giri Maharaj, who had been the former mahant and Mahamandleshwar of Parmat temple for a long time, passed away on Sunday in Dehradun. Shri 1008 Mahamandleshwar Shyam Giri maharaj had trouble breathing. His body was brought to Kanpur on Monday from Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara Haridwar.
