Former Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi to appear in Bombay High Court for Aryan Khan

The Bombay High Court will on Tuesday hear the bail plea of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who has been in jail since October 8 in a drugs-on-cruise case. The 23-year-old star-kid has been denied bail twice.

Last week, a special court in Mumbai said that Aryan Khan’s WhatsApp chats indicate that “he is regularly engaged in narcotics illicit drug activities”, so it cannot be said that he is out on bail. He is not likely to have committed the same offence.

The Bombay HC will hear the bail pleas of Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, all of whom have so far spent 25 nights away from home.

Meanwhile, in a significant development, former Attorney General of India (AGI) Mukul Rohatgi is expected to appear for Aryan Khan’s bail plea, which is scheduled to appear before the Bombay High Court today. Rohatgi, who recently dubbed the Narcotics Control Bureau “an ostrich with a head buried in the sand”, will join Khan’s existing battery of lawyers at the HC during the day.

Apart from Rohatgi, Khan’s side includes senior advocates like Amit Desai and Satish Maneshinde, who have fought for him in the HC, apart from the magistrate court and the special NDPS court.

Aryan Khan and 7 others were detained on October 2, when the NCB raided a rave party on a cruise ship, and were arrested the next day along with 12 other arrests in the sensational case.
