After the news of the fire, outrage among the people is increasing. Angry relatives of the victims allegedly attacked vehicles outside the building while rescue operations were on. This delayed the rescue operation by a few hours. Most of those who died were poor daily wage workers.

The main opposition party BNP has blamed the ruling Awami League. In a statement issued on Friday, BNP general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir demanded a proper inquiry into the incident and also demanded adequate compensation to the families of the victims.
