Vadodara: If you are troubled by the rising fuel prices then here is your chance to get free petrol worth Rs.100. All that has to be done is to follow the traffic rules regularly and win the ‘I Traffic Champ’ award. The police department on Thursday announced an initiative to encourage citizens to follow traffic rules in the city.
City Police Commissioner Shamsher Singh said, “Any citizen who regularly follows all road safety rules will be given a free petrol coupon of Rs 100. This initiative will continue for a year.” He said that people should follow the traffic rules for their own safety and not out of fear of fine. The Madhya Gujarat Petrol and Diesel Dealers Association along with leading oil marketing firms have agreed to participate in the initiative.
Police said that traffic champs would be rewarded daily to those citizens who would be monitored by CCTV along the road. Singh said that the police would also hold discussions with the local people to resolve the traffic issues in their area.
