New DelhiPakistan’s attempt to list an Indian national, Gobind Patnaik Duggiwalasa as a UN-listed terrorist, has been again rejected by 5 countries namely UK, US, France, Albania and India in the UN Security Council committee . Pakistan Earlier in 2020, it had tried to name the same person on the list and tried to list him as a UN terrorist, but at that time too he was rejected.

In 2020, the Indian envoy to the United Nations had tweeted on the same and said, “Pakistan’s blatant attempt to politicize the 1267 Special Process on Terrorism by religiously politicizing it.”

On the other hand, China banned the UN listing of Lashkar-Taiba’s second command Abdul Rehman Makki for 6 months during the United Nations Security Council. According to reports, the resolution was submitted by India and the US on 1 June to the UN Security Council 1267 Committee, also known as the Al-Qaeda (Daesh) and ISIL Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council. Both Washington and Delhi have listed Abdul Rehman Makki as a terrorist.

For those unaware, Abdul Rehman Makki is the political affairs chief of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JUD), a terrorist entity according to the United Nations.
