‘Finally a Tendulkar Has an IPL Wicket!’: Batting Legend Sachin’s Tweet on Son Arjun Goes Viral

For the second time in a row, Mumbai Indians showed faith in rookie left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar and let him go for their IPL 2023 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday night. Arjun continued to impress and eventually played a key role in securing a 14-run victory for the franchise as they climbed to the sixth spot on the points table.

After bowling two overs for 14 runs, MI captain Rohit Sharma kept the pace bowling all-rounder in check till the final over of the SRH chase. MI were set a challenging target of 193 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, riding on Cameron Green’s maiden IPL half-century.

With 20 to defend the final over, Arjun held his nerves and conceded just five runs from as many balls to bowl SRH out for 178.

The hosts ran out Abdul Samad on the second ball and then Arjun had Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught by Rohit at cover for his first IPL wicket.

Sachin Tendulkar must have been amazed to see his son seal the victory for Mumbai Indians, the team he himself represented during his playing career.

He took to Twitter to celebrate the win, praising the top MI performers.

“Fantastic all-round performance once again by Mumbai Indians. Cameron Green impresses with both bat and ball Ishaan and Tilak’s batting is as good as it gets! IPL is getting more interesting every day. Great going boys!” wrote Sachin.

And he signed off acknowledging the fact that a ‘Tendulkar’ has finally taken an IPL wicket.

Sachin played 78 matches for MI and bowled 36 balls but never got a wicket.
