Jai Prakash Chouksey passed away due to heart attack
Film critic, writer Jai Prakash Chouksey passed away on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest at his home in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, family sources said. The film writer’s son Raju Chouksey said the 82-year-old was suffering from lung cancer for the past seven years and his condition had worsened in the last three months. Several Bollywood celebrities including Rakesh Roshan, Javed Akhtar took to social media platforms to express their heartfelt condolences to the late filmmaker.
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan expressed his condolences on Twitter. He tweeted, “Saddened by the passing away of veteran film distributor, noted writer and dear friend JP Choksi ji. Heartfelt condolences and strength to the family members… RIP.”
Veteran lyricist, Javed Akhtar also condoled the demise of Jai Prakash Chouksey. Akhtar lamented, “Goodbye Choksi sahib, he doesn’t become like you anymore. You were one of the last memories of a culture that has been lost forever.”
Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhanstate congress president Kamal Nath And many other leaders mourned Choksi’s death.
Choksi wrote screenplays and dialogues for several films, including ‘Shayad’ (1979), ‘Katal’ (1986) and ‘Bodyguard’ (2011), and was also involved in writing for television serials.
