FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 Official Logo Unveiled by CM Naveen Patnaik

New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday unveiled the logo of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023. The tournament will be played in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to 29.

Hockey India and its official partner Odisha have hosted it for the second time in a row after 2018.

The country’s largest hockey stadium is being built in Rourkela, which will have a capacity of 20,000 spectators.

“It is my honor and pleasure to unveil the logo of the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup for the second time in a row,” the CM said after unveiling the official logo, as reported by news agency ANI.

The Hockey World Cup tournament of the year 2023 is going to be held in Odisha. In which teams from different countries will participate. These World Cup matches will be played in Rourkela and Bhubaneshwar.

“We are thrilled that this time around there will be two venues – Bhubaneshwar and Rourkela. The 2018 FIH Men’s World Cup gave us all the memories we cherish today and the 2023 FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup will be even more exciting and unforgettable. Odisha looks forward to welcoming global hockey fans and top teams from across the world to participate in the prestigious tournament,” the Odisha Chief Minister said.

On the occasion, Narinder Dhruv Batra, President, International Hockey Federation (FIH) said, “The logo reveal is one of the important milestones for the 2023 FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup, Bhubaneswar – Rourkela. An amazing show awaits athletes and fans in January next year as the world’s best teams play at the state-of-the-art Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the country’s luxurious, brand-new Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium. Largest Hockey Arena – In Rourkela. On behalf of FIH, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Government of Odisha and in particular to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, for his continued support in the development of hockey.

Meanwhile, Hockey India President Gyanendro Ningombam also expressed his gratitude to the CM.
