Fetty Wap charged with drug trafficking by the FBI; may face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment

American singer and rapper Fetty Wap, who was arrested on Thursday, has been charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with drug trafficking and conspiracy to allegedly distribute drugs, including heroin and fentanyl. The singer was arrested in a stadium in New York before his concert. The singer, whose real name is Willie Jr. Maxwell II, along with five others has been charged with transporting drugs to Long Island and New Jersey. If found guilty, he could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

US Attorney Brian Peace spoke to CNN about Maxwell’s imprisonment and the indictment to CNN. “As alleged, the defendants transported, distributed and sold more than 100 kilograms,” he said. Meanwhile, the singer or his team has not made any official statement regarding his arrest. The actor was to perform at the Rolling Loud Festival in New York over the weekend.
