The Congress also demanded the resignation of the minister. “The minister’s statement is meaningless and baseless. He has not explicitly denied any of the allegations against him. He is trying to suppress the issue which is absolutely not acceptable. The Congress party strongly condemns such conduct by the minister,” OPCC Media Cell President Ganeshwar Behera said.
“Misra should immediately submit his resignation. He should face investigation and prove his innocence. Otherwise, Congress will intensify agitation across Odisha.”
The BJD denied the allegations, accusing the opposition of politicizing the issue. Party spokesperson Pratap Deb said the minister commented on the incident. The police have arrested the main accused in the incident. The government is working to ensure that Mamata gets justice.
