Singh said that the community kitchen will continue till the protest site is completely cleared.
He said that the Ghazipur border is likely to be cleared by Saturday.
Meanwhile, an official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that National Highway 9 would be opened for commuters after a technical inspection where the farmers had been camping for over a year and its pillars were completed.
NHAI project director Arvind Kumar told PTI that once the farmers clear the highway, NHAI engineers will inspect and repair the damaged portion.
The United Kisan Morcha (SKM), which spearheaded the farmers’ agitation against the Centre’s agricultural laws, on Thursday decided to call off the agitation and announced that farmers would go back home from protest sites on Delhi’s borders on Saturday.
The movement, which started in November last year, mainly attracted farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
