Farmers said that traditional farming like paddy and wheat is loss making business but by using vegetable farming on small plot they finally got good yield and profit

The lives of Indian farmers are guided by weather conditions, which also lead them to face extremes – sometimes drought, sometimes floods in the form of swollen rivers. For centuries, they have depended on traditional farming methods, but now they have started using modern technology.

Farmers are now taking steps towards prosperity by adopting new and unique methods of farming, equipped with technical and mechanical facilities. The story of the farmers of Lakhisarai in Bihar is the same: they were forced to abandon the old and adopt the new. After suffering massive losses due to traditional farming, he learned to change his ways and started cultivating vegetables.

Farmers are now becoming self-sufficient and earning better profits than before. In Barhiya, Pipariya, Suryagadha, Halsi, the situation is now that farmers are now cultivating paddy and wheat in limited quantities but are producing vegetables on a large scale.

Vegetable farmers Bablu Mahto, Suman Singh and Amit Singh said that they are facing heavy losses in traditional farming like paddy and wheat. Troubled by the low yield, he started vegetable cultivation on a small piece of land as an experiment. This experiment gave him good yield and huge profit. But it also inspired them to think differently as there was a hope that they could finally start successful farming in this area.

This experiment is working as an inspiration not only for the farmers of this village but also for the farmers of the surrounding villages. The picture has changed now as a large number of farmers are cultivating vegetables in Lakhisarai and earning good profits.

Mahto said that their children are going to good schools and the whole family is happy with the new prosperity. He said that not only mandis, vegetables are easily sold in local markets.

Farmers pluck vegetables from the fields and keep them on the roadside so that people walking by can see the fresh produce and buy them at market rates. This benefits both, as farmers can sell vegetables with very little effort and customers can buy vegetables at market rates. Even in the mandis, vegetables are easily sold without any effort.
