Farhan Akhtar wishes his daughter Shakya a happy birthday: ‘Proud of you’
Actor Farhan Akhtar’s elder daughter Shakya turned 21 on Saturday, and to mark her special day, the actor posted birthday wishes on Instagram. He wrote, “21 Shakya Mubarak. @chatdelalune. Watching you grow into a strong, independent, fierce woman has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Proud of you. You get more and more with every passing day I love.” Childhood picture of Shakya.
Not only this, the birthday girl also received a sweet wish from her aunt and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar. “My fave Leo. Happy birthday Shakya. You light up the world. #21today #birthdaygirl #happygirl #bestgirl #loveunlimited,” she posted on Instagram.
Shakya is the eldest child of two children of Farhan and his ex-wife Adhuna Bhabani. They are also Akira’s parents. Farhan married celebrity hairstylist Adhuna in the year 2000 and they divorced in April 2017. Farhan is currently dating actress Shibani Dandekar.
On the professional front, Farhan recently stunned everyone with his incredible performance in the recent film ‘Toofan’. He played the role of a boxer in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial, which also stars Paresh Rawal and Mrunal Thakur. It revolves around the journey of a local goon, Ajju Bhai (Farhan) to become a professional boxer, Aziz Ali.
Talking about the preparation that Farhan Akhtar had to do for the role, his coach Drew Neal said, “Farhan was training for two hours every day. The pace at which he was learning might have been a normal start. So, instead of a year of training, he was hitting more like four years of training.” Farhan was initially coached by Drew and then handed over to Darrell for the training camp, and thereafter the shooting began in August 2019.
