The body of MBBS student Naveen Shekharappa, who lost his life during the war in Kharkiv city of Ukraine, will reach Bengaluru on March 21. Naveen’s father Shankarappa told- After worshiping the body from the Veera Shaiva tradition in the village, it will be donated to the SS Hospital in Davanagere for medical studies. Naveen was a resident of Haveri district of Karnataka. He died on 1 March after being shot in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Naveen’s father Shankarappa said- My son wanted to achieve something in the field of medicine, but it did not happen. At least his body can be used by other medical students for studies. Hence, we have decided to donate our son’s body for medical research.

Shankarappa told- Naveen’s body will reach Bengaluru airport at 3 am on Monday. From there the dead body will reach our village by 9 am, then we will worship according to the Veera Shaiva tradition and then we will keep it for the public to see. After this the body will be donated to SS Hospital Davangere for medical study.

Chief Minister promised to come to the village
Shankarappa said- We have received a message from Haveri District Collector’s office and Emirates flight service about the arrival of Naveen’s body. At least now we are happy that our son’s body has been brought back. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai spoke to me and promised to come to Bengaluru airport and village.

MBBS student Naveen Shekharappa Gyangoudar hailed from Haveri district of Karnataka. 21-year-old Naveen of Kharkiv National Medical University was standing in a queue to buy food when he was killed in Russian firing. The Chief Minister of Karnataka has given financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to Naveen’s family and has promised a job to one of the family members.

Didn’t get a seat even after scoring 97 percent marks.
After receiving the news of Naveen’s death, his father Shankarappa had told the media – seats are allotted according to caste in India. Despite securing 97 per cent marks in PUC, my son could not get a medical seat in the state, due to which he had to be sent to Ukraine for studies.
