Noida: The residents of Supertech Emerald Court and ATS Green Village started returning home late on Sunday after their society received clearance from Edifice Engineering and other government agencies. However, several residents just visited to check their flats and said they would return on Monday.
Noida Authority said residents were allowed to enter after 7pm. “No damage in Supertech Emerald Court. ATS Green Village’s some 10m boundary wall, 10 or so windowpanes and few small light poles around campus damaged. These will be restored by agency (Edifice) tomorrow onwards,” it tweeted.
It further tweeted, “Cleaning done in Supertech cleared, while ATS Village had more dust impact. Water spray shall continue for some more time. External roads cleaned. Authority teams will be back tomorrow at 7/8 am for cleaning areas around.”
Abhinav Sachar, a resident of Aster 5, stayed with his kin in the Parsvnath Prestige club on Sunday. “In the evening, I came to Delhi, while my family members returned to Emerald Court. There was no damage to our flat as our tower was at a significant distance from the demolition site,” he said.
He spent his day working from the club. “Prestige residents welcomed us. It felt like home. The environment was good and I preferred to work from there,” added Sachar.
Mamta Agarwal, a resident of Aspire 4, Emerald Court, said she returned to her flat with her family at 8pm. “I checked my flat and there was no damage, but the balcony was covered in dust,” she added. An Emerald Court RWA member said 10-12 families returned to the society on Sunday night.
Supertech Emerald Court RWA allowed entry to residents at 8pm. Those who had reached there early returned. Ravi Kapoor, a resident of Aster 2, said he visited his society in the evening, but was told to wait for some time. “I returned to my guesthouse. I will go back to Emerald Court on Monday,” he added.
Nidhi Sharma, a resident of Aster 2, got very emotional while watching the demolition on television from her hotel room. “For one second, I thought my tower was gone, but when the dust cleared I felt safe. I hugged my children and family members.” She would be visiting her flat on Monday to check for damage.
